'Tex' is another masterpiece from a guy in town who has an amazing talent of wood carving and doesn't even know it OR he's so just darn humble - can't decide what! I wanted to choose another Santa to my collection this year SO, I asked Bob to talk to him at school and he did PLUS sent a BOX of Santa's home so I could choose one! How do you choose just one? In the box was 'Tex' (just had to give him a name!) - just laying there - kind of unnoticed! So, I thought I would get 'Tex' out of his box and put him in the spotlight - I spent some time with him in the kitchen with my trusty reading lamp (for light) and camera. I love the personality he was given by Steve's carving tools - you can hear his boots click-clicking on the formica and hear his raspy voice say, "Hi there pard'ner!"

I love these images and would love to know what sort of lighting you used.

THANK YOU, you're ALWAYS so kind and make a person 'feel' like they have skills! ! ! ! I'm a Marcelle "wonna-be"!

Haven't 'talked' to you in awhile! I am popping in on you and your family almost everyday! It funny, but it was totally dark in my kitchen - so I got a reading lamp whose neck twists and turns and was able to direct the light right on "Tex" - made a perfect spotlight . . . that's it!!! The Christmas tree in the background helped to make some interesting lighting on one of the shots.
Thanks for coming by to visit!
Mom, I just can't believe the talent you have hidden inside of you. It's about time that you let it out for all to enjoy.
What an incredible artist this woodcarver is - and you are terrific with your photography!
