"banking bikers" collage & journal notes

A little hard to believe that it's been a year since the "banking bikers" have graced our doorstep - sad but true! It was fun to hear them come rumbling in last Saturday - it meant BBQ -time and some photo-time. They came to tour some of our beautiful country on their bikes and the weather was definitely cooperating - not too hot, not too cold!

JOURNAL NOTES:
Headed south to have grandma's hearing checked at a local university. Veterans Administration takes good care of it's veterans - exam, testing, hear aid - all covered by VA. Hearing aid alone would have cost over $4,000! Gosh, I'll miss, "What did you say?", "I can't hear you!", "What?" . . . . N.O.T.!!!!!!! While she was being tested, the lady asking the questions would say a series of words and grandma would have to repeat back to her what she heard. There were many times grandma would say nothing after the lady would say a series of words . . . definite hearing loss. That is what they found - so went about taking impressions of her ears for the hearing aids. It will mean another 1 hour trip (several times) to be fitted and have them adjusted. I'm really glad she's able to have this blessing of hearing in her life - so many older people (and young) must sit in silence because they don't have the money to spend.

We were able to drop by and visit with Whitney and boys after the appointment. Whit, boys, grandma and I headed to Costco for our monthly trip as we bought a membership this summer and have to make it down there at least once a month to make our membership worth-while. Whit tipped me off to a few new healthy choices while we were there. I enjoy walking around looking at toys with Bodin and Toren - their eyes 'bug' out of their little heads looking at all the fun Christmas toys (yes, I know - early for Christmas)!
