happy mother's day to all MOTHERS & mothers-to-be

(Please scroll down and turn music 'off' - thanks and Happy Mother's Day!!!)

"The noblest calling in the world is that of mother.

True motherhood is the most beautiful of all arts, the greatest of all professions.

She who can paint a masterpiece or who can write a book that will influence millions deserves

the plaudits and admiration of mankind; but she who rears successfully a family of healthy

beautiful sons and daughters whose immortal souls will be exerting an influence throughout

the ages long after painting shall have faded, and books and statues shall have been destroyed,
deserves the highest honor that man can give."

Hollywood CONGRATULATIONS ! ! ! ! ! !

Have you ever worked and worked and worked on something you love and not seen any results - or at least just a little? Did you give up and say, "Oh what the heck!" and then go on to something else? That's okay - most people do! However, I know someone who seems to defy the odds - gets knocked down and gets back up time and time again! This person doesn't seem to acknowledge the meaning of "NO!" This person was once told (actually time and time again) that he didn't know 'how' to work and was lazy! This person continued to work and progress despite all odds. How do you come from a small town in Idaho and make a mark in Hollywood? Not possible! Ohhhhhhh, yes it is - and this person is making his mark and that would be Griffin.

Hollywood Undead is not a rock group for everyone, admittedly - but, there are plenty of people who made it rise to the TOP on the Billboard Charts! To clarify: Griffin produced, engineered and wrote (6) songs on Hollywood Undead's newest album, "American Tragedy".

Grif's MOTTO:
"It's not a matter of IF, it's a matter of WHEN!"

#2 on the ROCK CHARTS
(click charts for a closer look)

SWEET . . .
*****#1 on the HARD ROCK Albums*****

#2 on the Digital Albums

#4 on the Billboard 200

Word got around on FACEBOOK as well - here are Griffin's brothers and sisters bragging about (Grif) and some responses taken directly from their FACEBOOK wall:

And LAST but NOT LEAST - the same month all the BILLBOARD-stuff was happening, Grif was SIGNED by EMI Publishing, a huge PUBLISHING COMPANY. They will work closely with each other to make sure there will be more work than ever! This signing, in and of itself, has been a bright moment in Grif's career. It's only going to get better from here. "No, this guy doesn't know how to take "NO" for an answer!"

SPECIAL NOTE:
AS I WRITE THIS a big SURPRISE PARTY has just been sprung (such a word?) for Griffin in Hollywood - all those who know him and work with him are joining in celebration with Katrina and Grif somewhere in Hollywood OR Beverly Hills to celebrate his great success. Just received a text from him (9:29 pm) saying, "Holy crap ! ! ! ! ! I'm blown away! Katrina got some of the most important people in LA (with the craziest schedules ever) to come out ! ! ! ! ! Amazing ! ! ! ! ! ! !"

"Congratulations Griffin - wish we could
be there to join in the fun and celebration. What an
amazing accomplishment you have achieved
(understatement of the year, I'm sure)!"
With all our love and respect for a job well-done,
Mom & Dad

where or where have i been . . .

I WOULD TELL YOU I've been in Hawaii - but THAT was my April Fools joke via Facebook that went bad -
I WOULD TELL YOU I got a new and highly revered photography job with National Geographic -
I WOULD TELL YOU I've been working-out 8 hours a day and I was too exhausted to even think blog -
I WOULD TELL YOU my computer's been down due to a horrible virus - except, I have an iMac -
I WOULD TELL YOU . . . my theory on vitamin D . . . well, pretty much sucks -
FOR REALS . . .
I WOULD TELL YOU after giving my family some compassionate SERVICE (2) weeks ago I came down with the SAME bronchitis that my family member had just been diagnosed with!

Since April 4th this is pretty-much what I've been doing:
cough, cough, hack, cough, cough, hack, hack, cough, cough, blow nose, blow some more, cough, cough, cough, cough, blow nose more and more, cough, cough, cough-syrup, cough, sleep, cough, cough, cough, hack, cough, cough, hack, hack, cough, cough, blow nose, blow some more, cough, cough, cough, cough, blow nose more and more, cough, cough, cough-syrup, cough, sleep, cough cough, cough, hack, cough, cough, hack, hack, cough, cough, blow nose, blow some more, cough, cough, cough, cough, blow nose more and more, cough, cough, cough-syrup, cough, sleep, cough cough, cough, hack, cough, cough, hack, hack, cough, cough, blow nose, blow some more, cough, cough, cough, cough, blow nose more and more, cough, cough, cough syrup, cough, sleep, cough syrup, sleep, sleep, sleep, cough, hack, yawn, z-pack, cough, cough, cough, choke, cough, sleep, sleep sleep! . . . TIMES THAT BY (7) to get the real feel of MY week!

That's about it folks - pretty much sums up my WEEK OF SICKNESS - even though I'd like to think my vitamin D rocks and I'm totally strong and healthy - even though I've been totally OUT-TO-LUNCH!

Adding insult to injury, our spring weather has been nothing short of WINTER WEATHER. Snow, snow and more snow! Today finally with our 50 degree weather we FINALLY melted the last of the white-stuff - well, for this week! I did look back at April 2010 and we had snow as well. Our entire spring break was snow and coughing! Bob taught a lot of driver's ed - just to stay well (I think!).

a FEW of my favorite things

A new pillow to decorate my bed . . . no!

Ahhhhh, you recognize it . . .

After purchasing (7) of these for Christmas presents for our kids I finally, got in the mail, my very own little Kindle! Made a decision in my life that I needed to read more and wanted something I could take with me that took very little room!

Remember several months ago I told you about something that really rang true to me - something that has to do with scrapbooking? "SCRAPBOOK?!" you say! That was actually a sware-word to me for a long, long time. Took too much time, too much mula ($), too much room - you name it, I was against it . . . well, until now. I've had it undercover for awhile and decided to share it with you now.

Everything comes in the BIG, lucious box . . .

This is a very smart scrapbooking system. When you're a busy mom OR a very busy grandma (who has boxes and boxes of photos in your closet) who needs to catchup and be respectful to the hoards of photos still 'homeless' - well, this is the system for YOU . . .

Beautiful notebook (comes in several different styles), cards, stamp, stickers - but more importantly a QUICK, easy, no-brainer approach to scrapbooking and fast, fast, fast . . .

If you'd like to learn more about this amazing system (((click here))) and Becky will teach you all about it! You might like (((this link))) for more videos on this inspired product!

You'll absolutely LOVE it ! ! !

special kind of sunday . . .

There are some special times of year for all of us - what's yours? Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Independence Day - what? General Conference is one of mine (two times a year) - family, church in pjs - yes, in your pjs, good food, good company, inspirational goodness.

It was a beautiful day dispite the predicted forcast - snow, high wind, (((cold))). We didn't get a drop of either but it was a little chilly! (Click here to check out what last year was all about!) Please, do me a favor, and check out the buds on the trees! Our snow is (((gone))) except in shady areas - unbelieveable! Finally! Click the photo for a closer look - you don't realize how exciting this actually is - after (6) months of winter!

Some salmon, smothered in olive oil, garlic and herbs, was on today's menu along with roasted potatoes and veggies.

Had to make a few Conference snacks - chocolate chippers . . .

My analogy of Conference is like being in a warm cacoon, eating the most delicious food (spiritual in nature) and then when it's all done, being thrown back out into the world to continue our journey through life!

NOW, have a cookie . . .
