Well, I have to confess when Corey chose our 'theme' for the week, "Negative Space" I had to plead ignorance - I actually had to write and ask her, "What in the heck is that?" Come to find out I shoot negative space all the time - just didn't know it had a term - as you can tell, I'm a self-learner! Learn something new everyday, ha! Corey's photo is what I'm dreaming about everyday - spring with soft, fluffy dandelions (never thought I would say that) - she captured it so well - love the DOF and soft lighting. She mentioned it rained and rained all week - well, that's why you see the pretty green in the background - love it!

Now, when I finally learned about negative space, I had so many ideas (same as Corey). I did have a busy week so I thought and thought about what I was going to do and when I finally acted on my thoughts, my idea did not pan out! Drats, I hate when that happens - and, in true form, it was at the last second that I had to can my idea and go to the 'file' - as much as I hate to admit - do they call that cheating? Possibly!
My photo might look like a painted orange wall behind this plant but it was actually taken in the sulfur fields of West Yellowstone! This little plant was only a few short feet away from boiling caldron of water. The angle I took this photo is an optical illusion - as it was a flat surface that ran for some distance and this plant was brave enough to live and thrive in this hostile environment. Today, I'm sure this little plant is covered with 5 feet of snow - sheeesh!
Drop by Megan's blog-pad and check out the other themes for today - pretty fun!

These shots are both beautiful--I love this whole idea of negative space. The sulfur is especially nice. Great job both of you!
Brilliant color. That plant is definitely thriving against the odds. Wonderful photo.
funny, when i first saw your dip on flickr, your photo definitely brought yellowstone to mind. i was actually right for once :)! i do love these two together; something about the green and yellow really make them a great pair.
I love the contras of the colors. I would have thought it was against a wall, great illusion.
I would have had to ask what that was too : )
You did great.
As always!
