"reflection of fall"

I named this photo "Reflections of Fall" - just like the ocean, I could sit at this 'spot' and think, read and listen to the peaceful sounds of a river running by FOREVER!

peaceful fall

Yesterday I took 'baby-Bella' (our 4 lb. Yorkie) to the vet again to have her leg checked and she had developed a sore that needed to be treated and more antibiotics! It's only been 2 1/2 weeks since her second surgery - which seems like a lifetime so he couldn't really report weather her bones are healing well or not - but her cast/splint looked good. I think it's going to take a long time before she's back to normal.

Anyway, while Bella was at the vet I decided to drive around and see if our fall-color shots from last week (one pictured above) were still there to be captured. They were all gone - all the beautiful sights we saw last week had completely changed. I love driving around and scouting out photos to take - so relaxing and after last week's schedule (I'll write about it in my next post!), it was a welcome get-away.

Last weeks photos -
Okay, are you 'sick-to-death' of the color ORANGE and fall photos - I promise (well, maybe) this is the end of them!

I don't know if you can see but about in the middle/left hand side a duck is taking flight?!?

team up thursday - "MONEY"

Our theme this week is "MONEY". I look at Corey's photo (left) and remember when I was a little girl I would constantly look to the ground with great anticipation in finding a penny! My parents did it and consequently, I did it. Today I've seen not only others but myself ignoring such a small amount and walking past it! I love the simplicity of Corey's photo and the shadows add such interest and mystery!!!

Collages1

The dollar, origami-style was sent to my hubby for his birthday from his sister. She sent (3 of them) and I just couldn't believe my eyes!!!! It was folded in the shape of a heart and so intricate and amazing I took a double-take! To me, the heart doesn't suggest "the love of money" - just the "love" of an amazing talent and such patience!!!!!

Drop by Megan's for more TUT events!

"did you?"

See my cool-little-sticker I got for voting?

Photo 12

Rather than roam around in my PJs today, I headed to the polls and cast my ballot. I'm very patriotic because I LOVE freedom and the American way of life! So many times I think about what it would be like not to have what so many people take for granted! I don't even like the thought of it - SO, I vote! Then, I think of all those who went before and either sacrificed in some way or lost their lives in defense of freedom SO, I vote! I think of people throughout the world who are in bondage to someone else and that makes me sad - SO, I vote! We hear that freedom isn't free - and I appreciate my everyday freedoms and I don't want to loose them - SO, I vote! I want my kids, my grand babies and all my future posterity to enjoy everything life has to offer - SO, I vote! "Did you?"

halloween 2010 - revisited

I have been tied up with a pretty LARGE project - so haven't posted in over a week. Can't wait to tell you about it - I'm pretty excited! I'll journal a little later about our Halloween - so, come back and visit - for now, here are a few photos!

blitz of orange and yellow - Mosaic Monday

Yep, I'd say that was a bit of orange and yellow in "The Burg"!!! Saturday we took these photos and today it's been storming and the wind has been blowing like crazy with expected gusts up to 50 mph! I think all these beautiful leaves will be gone - our timing was probably . . . well . . . perfect!

(click collage, it will take you to Flickr - then click on the collage again and it will ENLARGE!!!)

FALL COLORS

There were just TOO MANY photos we took this weekend to post them individually and the lighting was perfect - there was very little retouching that was done on these photos. I shot them all on manual mode - first time I've done totally manual on every shot!!! . . . (is that a feather growing out of my cap!) LOL - progress?

FALL COLORS

I haven't done MOSAIC MONDAY for quite some time - but drop by Mary's place for some exquisite photos!

he wants to shoot photos for his birthday?

Fall 1

We went to the park today for Bob's BIRTHDAY . . . and dinner . . . and treats . . . I asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said, "I want to take and show you some places to take photos!" Yes, HE said that, not me!

Three college girls stopped us and asked if we would take a photo of them with their point and shoot camera. I held up my camera and said, "Let's take some photos!!!" They were so cute and so fun, how could I resist? I need to practice anyway!

Fall 2

I'll journal more tomorrow about our day! Wow, the colors are just popping but the weather report tonight said a big storm is heading our way and temps will drop dramatically tomorrow with snow in a day or two. So, I'm so glad we could get out and enjoy this special day. More photos coming soon.

team up thursday - "SMALL"

Corey choose our theme this week and that would be "small" ! ! ! OM-gosh, I am in love with her "small" furry baby bunnies! They are so cute and so very tiny - just look at those little paws and ears. Lucky little Sugar Bear - that's for sure. Nicely done partner!

team up thursday - "SMALL"

Both of our photos are reminding me of SPRING rather than FALL! My photo captures a honey bee - something I haven't seen around our home for sometime. Within one week I saw two - one on this flower and one laying on my window sill (dead). I used to dislike these little creatures (I was stung too many times to count) until they disappeared from our area due to "colony collapse" a disease that wiped out the honey bees in our area! I actually missed them when our yard was taken over by wasps - now I really have to say I'd take the honey bee back any day, any time! I have seen a few this summer - but not many. I hope they're on their way back but I guess we won't have to worry about that until next spring. For now, I'm going to enjoy me some FALL!
