Heather and I traveled into the wilderness yesterday and did a photo shoot for a friend and her family. I had never been to her little corner of the world before but it was beautiful - one would say, 'in the middle of no-where'. Whitney would always get mad at me for saying that about the little paradise when she lived on Doc's ranch - she would say, it's in the middle of 'somewhere'! On my way home, deer ran in front of my car and hawks and eagles soared overhead. Had I not had my GPS unit, I would have never found it! Anyway, we had fun but fought some bad lighting conditions - but made the best of it. It was so dark from cloud cover and a mixture of smoke from wild fires around the state.
The other day, my mom was saying she needed to get her driver's license renewed by September! Well, it got me thinking and I peeked into my wallet (that usually contains no mula (aka: money) and found that my driver's license expired in 2008 ! ! ! ! ! ! My mouth hung open in shock. So, guess what I had to do? I had to take a written and in-car driving test!!! Check your license often as it cost me a lot of mula (aka: money) and time! I do have to brag as I got 100% on the written and aced the driving test! Bob, being the driver's-ed teacher that he is, was floored to find out I aced the test. He said that was impossible because it's so hard and they always throw those trick questions in! Then, my tester-guy was one of Bob's friends and he didn't charge me for the driving test . . . finally, some luck! Lesson learned - don't think I'll do anything like that again soon - at least not for another eight years ! ! ! Where's my calendar?
Adding insult to injury . . . just got word today that Schuyler, Whitney's hubby, (the one that was in the car accident a few weeks ago and going to school) was laid-off today as the restaurant he cooked for went out of business! He is applying for unemployment assistance AND Whitney will be having her baby before the end of the month. If you're so inclined remember this little family in your prayers! Since they left Montana almost a year ago they've had a tough, tough go of it! AND, if you happen to know of some work - they could use some.

omg Berta - but honestly I had a big grin on my face when I read about your drivers licence. We here in Germany don't have to renew them once you got yours.... except you get stopped by the police while driving when you're drunk....
It depends on how much alcohol you had then you have to leave your dl with the police and in worst case (get stopped several times while driving around drunk) you have to do your drivers licence again on a special way which is called "Idiotentest" (test for idiots)...
cannot wait to see your tut photo tomorrow :)
see ya

Hmmm, I think mine is still good, but just to be sure will check my license today!
Wishing much luck to the kids. Finding employment is just hard everywhere these days.

Oh, I'm cracking up about your DL! We don't even have to keep track of that! Our state sends us a reminder when the expiration is up about 3 months before your birthday so you have plenty of time to go and get a new picture taken if you want OR fill out the paperwork and they send you a new one in the mail!
So sorry to hear about Schy losing his job. It is rough out there! Is Whit due any day? I thought it was later in August???? I better hurry and send off that blanket! I'll just send it to your house since I don't have their address...
