updating my week

TIME TO CATCH UP!
Just got home from church and waiting for Whitney and family to show up! I'm excited to see them all because I haven't seen them since their accident - wanting to give Schuy, Bodin and Tao a hug and hold them close to know that we have each other for a little longer! I wasn't able to go and be with them after the accident since I was laid-up with a virus in my back - difficult for a mother to be left behind when kids are hurting!

It was funny at church today, a kid named Jake gave a talk about a pioneer ancestor of his and come to find out that ancestor's name was Ephraim Hanks! Why is that so funny? It so happens to be Bob's great-grandfather!!! So, we're related - isn't that a crackup? It's surprising how many cousins reside in our little valley and probably don't even know it! Ephraim Hanks was a very burly guy unafraid of nothing and was a scout for Brigham Young - a great leader who settled Utah. I worked and am a good friend with a woman named Dixie and, come to find out, her great grandfather was Brigham Young - so the two of us (whos great-grandfathers worked together) were working together! Small, small, small world!

Was busy this week helping my mom - her operation (biopsy )was Tuesday and all went well. Remember she's 87 years young! She tolerated it better this time - bounced back quickly until yesterday when she had a setback - pain - could it be an infection OR is just part of the biopsy, we're not quite sure. She goes to the doctor tomorrow so we're happy about that. She's comfortable but uncomfortable!!! The doc seemed to think things looked good - no return of cancer. Time will tell.
